Immigration Debate on the Back Burner for too Long

One year later, the demands listed by pro-immigrant rights groups haven’t changed. Undocumented immigrants are still working without proper documentation, and undocumented students are still graduating from college with résumé in hand, but without the nine digits necessary to work in the United States. This is the “big picture” that captures not only the reality of most undocumented individuals, but also of most working class Americans in general. The parallel lives of undocumented immigrants and inner city and rural-community residents are reflective of faltering domestic policies and governmental indecisiveness.
