Study: Immigration reform will raise workers' wages

(AP) New York- A study conducted by the Immigration Policy Center of Washington and the Center for American Progress states that Immigration reform would generate approximately 1.5 billion dollars in GDP during the next ten years.

The article suggests that with the legalization/naturalization of the millions of undocumented immigrants present in the United States would result in a significant amount of growth within the United States' economy.

This could well hold to be an effective argument when drafting upcoming and considered immigration reform plans.

Obama's Promise

La Promesa de Obama (Obama's Promise)

Jorge Ramos, a very well-known Mexican news reporter and journalist lets it be known that President Barack Obama was not able to come up with an appropriate and efficient immigration reform plan within his first year of presidency as he had promised to the Latino Community, which caused him to win approximately 67 percent of the Latino vote, in an interview with Jorge Ramos on May 28, 2008.

Ramos continues to explain how it is not Obama's fault in its entirety, but how as a result of one of the worst economic crisis in eight decades everything had to be modified and the pressure went from finding an immigration reform plan to finding a solution to ease the economic situation in the US. The economic crisis was a more important issue that first had to be resolved to be able to move on to the immigration policy.

The Good News: President Barack Obama affirmed that his goal is to reach an immigration reform which he can strongly back and support within the first half of 2010. Hopefully there won't be too many obstacles on the way to that goal this time.
